How often will the nurse visit?
The frequency of nursing visits will be based on best practice and in collaboration with the Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS). If appropriate, we will teach a support person or family member to provide your wound care between nursing visits.
How do I get the medical supplies I need?
Medical supplies such as gauze, tape or specialised products are determined by your wound, ordered by your nurse, and provided by the Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS).
When should I call the nurse/doctor?
Your nurse will review with you what can be expected during your post-op recovery period, and changes that may require a call for advice. Partners in Community Nursing has a nurse available 24 hours/day, 7 days/ week via telephone if you have any concerns such as increased pain, wound drainage, bleeding or fever. Once we have spoken with you via telephone, the nurse will help you to decide what course of action should be taken.
