  1. Does my doctor need to refer me to see a Nurse Continence Advisor?

    Yes, talk to your doctor and he/she can fax a referral to Durham Access to Care (DATC) and it will be arranged for a Nurse Continence Advisor provide an assessment in your home.

  2. How will I pay for this service?

    The cost of the Nurse Continence Advisor is covered through OHIP. However, you will need to contact your insurance company if ongoing supplies are required to see if they will provide any reimbursement.

  3. Will my problems be cured?

    Our goal is to provide an optimal quality of life. The problem may not be cured but the nurse will help you to manage and achieve optimal results. There is also the option for further referral (ie: surgeon) should that be required.
